DICE would make a terrible anime when done wrong, mainly due to other companies rushing the pacing with their default 12 eps and completely ruining the storyline. IMO Dice should NOT have an anime unless the actual author would direct the story, pacing and take charge in order to preserve its integrity, to make it ideal and perfect.. There are also webtoons being made into anime and unfortunately being butchered due to bad pacing among other things. Most anime adaptations end up being rushed, 12 ep pieces of garbage without ever having a continuation or extension, and are left at that.
Let's be honest here, a 387ep webtoon would be horrendous to adapt into a 12 ep anime, and unless they split it up into multiple seasons or enlongen the episodes, it would be ideal.
The second thing is that the anime might do the source material dirty, straight up changing things, some character personalities might also suffer, and I think that most anime might not include the finer details of the manga/webtoon and that is left up to the dust.
The third thing is, unless you want a bland, absolute crap attempt at the things mentioned above, I believe that the creator of the webtoon must be in charge of the plot, pacing, details, and the overall details of the operation. This way, it would turn out to his ideal expectations and not have it butchered if another writer would do the stuff.
The fourth thing: Might as well do a full length one, a standard length anime might not have enough to cover. But hey, overall its up to the author to decide if he wants an anime or not, and I think in the end the comic would be ideal unless the anime wouldn't turn out to be a more mediocre variation of the source material, in which that case there shouldn't be an anime until things actually make sense in the planning stage; AND if they even get enough time/funding in the first place.
I feel like it would be turned into a Harem, instead of a thriller, mystery genre. Which would completely waste the potential.
I also have my doubts that they would not do it justice. I feel they would either focus way too much on the horror side of things or step back and try to introduce a lovers quarrel. Heck, they could ruin it in the sense of trying to make it look like a superhero/villain genre. There are too many factors that I'd want them to stay away from. I initially got into DICE because of how it was a mystery and then got pulled in further showing signs of a thriller. But there are several sides that a publisher could ruin and cherry pick the wrong things. Imagine them making X into an AI. Or replacing main character for more "interesting" ones.
In all honesty I doubt DICE would get an adaptation as it's not super popular, atleast at this time. Maybe that is for the better, I'd rather see DICE blossom into a serious adaptation instead of trying to appease the masses.
